Early Childhood Education Master Teacher Certificate of Achievement
Upon successful completion of the Early Childhood Education Master Teacher certificate, the student demonstrates knowledge, training, and skills to be a master teacher in a privately or publicly funded child care center in accordance with the Child Development Permit Matrix issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Skills demonstrated and practiced by the student include the ability to provide instruction to young children utilizing knowledge of a specialized area of early childhood education, supervise adults in the classroom, and coordinate curriculum and staff development.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Evaluate effectiveness of early childhood curriculum, classrooms, teaching strategies and how teachers involve families in their children’s development and learning to improve teaching practices for all children by completing written observations in group care settings.
- Individualize mentoring and supervision strategies based on the roles and developmental stages of adult learners by completing a written assignment.
- Plan, implement and evaluate a series of developmentally, linguistically and culturally appropriate activities for young children in their practicum settings.
- Use a variety of personnel, program, and environmental assessment tools including either the Early Childhood, Infant/Toddler, School Age or Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale to inform leadership decisions in a written assignment.
